Roofing contractor

For roofing firms swinging between planned refurbishment and storm damage, with both coming through the same number.

The trigger

Why it usually gets rebuilt

After every storm the phone does not stop. The calls all arrive within the same two hours, and in that moment nobody can sort what needs making safe from what can wait until next week.

Typical pages

  • Home
  • Pitched roofs and coverings
  • Flat roofs and waterproofing
  • Leadwork, gutters and flashings
  • Storm damage and emergency make-safe
  • Roof refurbishment and insulation
  • Reference projects
  • Contact and out-of-hours

Features

What actually makes the difference

Not every website needs everything. These are the points that genuinely count in this trade.

Callout above everything else

The out-of-hours number sits in the header of every page, as a tap target on mobile. Beside it a form with an urgency level: water coming in, tiles on the lawn, or it can wait.

Weather notice that switches itself on

When an official storm warning covers the district, a band appears across the site: extended availability, what the firm deals with first, and the reminder not to climb onto the roof yourself.

Damage report for the insurance claim

Photos, time of damage, insurer and claim number captured in one pass. The firm can hand the documentation to the loss adjuster later without a round of follow-up questions.

References by roof shape

Gable, hipped, mono-pitch and flat shown separately, each with the covering material and the year. A client with plain clay tiles does not want to look at profiled sheet.

Scaffolding and lead times

A short explanation of why scaffold erection appears in the quote and how long it stays up. Alongside it, current workload — so no promise is made in spring that collapses in July.

Automation

What can run by itself

  1. Storm warning switches the routine

The weather service warning activates the notice band, extends the availability shown and files incoming reports into a separate queue.

  2. Emergency report to the duty roofer

Reports at the highest urgency level go straight out by SMS to whoever is on call, with the address and a link to the uploaded pictures.

  3. Roof maintenance reminder

Clients on a maintenance contract are reminded about gutter clearing in late summer, before the leaves fall and the diary fills up.

  4. Quote after the survey

A clock starts at the survey visit: if the quote has not gone out after four days, the system reminds the office — not the client.

  5. Photo record as a report

Pictures taken on site are assembled into a PDF with date, address and a short note. For insurers that is often the difference between payment and a query.

Integrations

Types of system typically connected — which product exactly is something we work out in the call.

  • Trade management software for jobs and variations
  • Measurement and estimating software
  • Weather data service for severe weather warnings
  • Mobile time recording on site
  • Document storage for photos and reports

Budget

$6,050 – $11,550

The callout side costs more than it looks: urgency logic, routing to the duty roofer and the automatic weather notice are three separate pieces. Without them the project sits at the lower end. These figures are an assessment, not a fixed price.
