About this app

Blackwell Paper & Office does not exist, and neither do the carrier or the wholesaler mentioned. The orders, returns, stock figures, deadlines and amounts on these screens are invented.

The demo stores nothing, sends nothing and calculates nothing. Buttons, input fields and dropdowns are fully labeled but have no effect.

Lines

Available means on the shelf and reserved for nobody. That gap is where overselling comes from — the shop sells against “available”, the counting happens at the shelf.

Create a split shipment

Before you split it, the cost is on screen: a second parcel at the shop's expense and a second tracking number the customer will ask about. In exchange three of four lines arrive tomorrow instead of Monday.

R-441 arrived on 30 July: a box with one lever arch file, no slip, no sender on the label. Until the customer gives us the order number, nothing can be refunded.

Open returns

Each row says what it is waiting for: us, the goods, or an answer from the customer. Only the first is work for today.

Decide a return

Whatever is decided here goes to the customer as a message — with the reason, not just the amount. That saves the second email.

When something is missing

Four views a website never needs. With money one of them matters most: a failed payout must not look like a successful one.

    The frame of the list is there immediately and fills in once the amounts come from the shop system.

  • Nothing there

    No refund outstanding

    Everything is paid out. The screen says so explicitly and offers the next step instead of staying blank.

  • Failed

    Payout rejected

    The payment route used for the original order no longer exists. The case stays due and open until bank details arrive — it does not count as done.

  • No connection

    No connection

    Amounts and deadlines stay readable, payouts do not run. Whatever is noted at the packing bench goes out once there is a connection again.

Replaces
Replaces the list printed from the shop system every morning, the sticky note with return numbers beside the packing bench and the calendar reminder for when a refund is due. Whatever was not on the note used to fall off the end.

Everything in this demo is laid out and none of it acts: buttons only report that they have no effect in the demo, checkboxes are fixed, input fields lead nowhere. Nothing is stored, sent or fetched.
