The job at the counter: ask for the code, open the locker, sign it off. Without a code it takes ID, and anyone collecting for somebody else needs written authority — otherwise the dispute lands on the shop.

About this app

Rothwell & Daughters does not exist. The jobs, customer names, locker numbers, collection codes, deadlines and amounts on these screens are invented.

The demo stores nothing and sends nothing. Checkboxes, buttons and input fields are labeled but have no effect.

How a handover runs

In this order. The third step is the one people skip when three customers are at the counter — and it is exactly the one that is missing afterwards.

The four states

In a shop this is not a nicety: the stockroom behind the wall has no signal, picking carries on all the same — and the customer is at the counter at 12:00 PM.

    At opening time the frame of the list is there before the jobs arrive from the shop system.

    Nothing in the queue

    Everything has reached the shop system. The screen says so explicitly instead of simply being blank.

  • Failed

    Stock booking rejected

    The shop system has already allocated the tin opener to another order. The entry stays put until somebody decides — it is not dropped.

  • No connection

    No signal in the stockroom

    Checklists, photos and locker notices carry on being written to the device. Syncing runs by itself once you are back on the shop floor.

Replaces
Replaces the printed picking slips at the shelf, the sticky notes on the collection lockers and the handwritten list of who took what. At month end nobody hunts for where an order went any more.

Everything in this demo is laid out and none of it acts: buttons only report that they have no effect in the demo, checkboxes are fixed, input fields lead nowhere. Nothing is stored, sent or fetched.
