Three steps to a date in the diary
Post it
Trade, place, description, rough timeframe, photos if you have them. A budget is optional; without one you get fewer applications, though usually more serious ones.
Read the applications
Contractors can apply for fourteen days. You see the profile, the distance, the response time and the reviews — with the number of them next to the average, so two votes do not look like a verdict.
Award it
You pick one contractor and we release the contact details. From then on the appointment, the quote, the contract and the invoice run directly between the two of you. All we hear afterwards is whether it went ahead.
Open postings
Ordered by closing date, then by distance. Neither contractors nor clients can buy a position. Each posting states whether a private person or a company is asking — that decides whether the contractor is dealing with a consumer.
Applications only from contractors on the trade register. Once a posting closes it drops out of the list.

Three applications in two days, two of them with questions I had not thought of myself. I took the one who came round before writing a quote.
It works for us because nothing is due until we are awarded a job. We apply for four postings a month and pay for one.
The fact that the payment does not run through the board is why we joined. Our money comes from the customer, not from a platform passing it on.
Posting a job costs nothing
For clients the board is free — including when no contractor turns out to fit. The paying is done on the other side, and only on award.
