Example site for an entirely fictional business — not a real company.

The workshop

Nine people, six ramps.

Text section

Bill Palmer started in 1996. One hall, two ramps, customers from the neighborhood. Since 2018 his son Adam has run the place. Same hall, just bigger.

Independent means no manufacturer tells us which parts to fit. In return we buy diagnostic software and training every year. Without that you cannot get near a modern car.

What we cannot do, we say. Bodywork and paint go to two firms in town, gearbox rebuilds too. Everything else stays in the hall.

The project frame

How Awelior would approach this project

Palmer Motor Repairs is invented — the way it is built is not. None of this is work delivered for a client. It is the shape we would give such a project — with the same depth, but without a client who would have to answer for it.

Where it starts

Palmer Motor Repairs is an independent garage for all makes with roadworthiness and emissions testing on site. Its problem is not visibility but mistrust: anyone looking for an independent garage expects an invoice above the estimate and an appointment that slips. The website has to clear both away before anyone calls.

Decisions

  • Fixed prices for what can be fixed-price

Service, oil change, air conditioning, the annual test — those appear as priced packages on the services page. For repairs there is no price, only the sentence that an estimate comes first. That distinction is the real message of the business.

  • The booking flow gets a page of its own

In the other demos booking sits on the contact page. Here it is the main route and therefore stands alone — with the opening hours directly beneath, because the second question after an appointment is always about drop-off times.

  • Hard-edged archetype, high density

The same archetype as the electrical contractor, but a different motif and a different palette. That is the evidence that the archetype is a tool and not a stencil: two businesses share it and still look unrelated.

Deliberately left outNo parts shop and no price list by vehicle model. Both require a vehicle database that has to be maintained — a garage this size would be showing wrong prices within three months.

What is in it

Five pages, in all four languages. Navigation, expandable questions, the gallery and the four-step booking flow all respond. Indicated only: workshop photography, directions and the form's destination; the calendar slots are sample values and are labeled as such.

How it would go on

  • Appointments tied to the ramp

A time slot is only worth something once there is a ramp, a mechanic and the right duration per job behind it. That is a connection to workshop planning, not to a calendar.

  • Reminders and updates

A reminder before the appointment, a message when the car is ready, and the test due date a year later. That is the part that brings customers back.

  • Real prices and photographs

The packages have to be calculated from the actual hourly rates, and the gallery needs pictures from this workshop rather than drawings.
